Orthotics
At Main Street Health Recovery we offer orthotics which is an associated health care medical profession and field that is concerned with the designing, development, fit and manufacturing of *orthoses (*a device that is applied externally to a part of the body to correct deformity, improve function, or relieve symptoms of a disease by supporting or assisting the neuro-musculoskeletal system. ), which are devices that support or correct musculoskeletal deformities and/or abnormalities of the human body.
Custom Orthotic inserts are made for patients suffering from foot, knee, hip, leg and back pain. Computerized technology accurately and precisely measures foot pressures throughout the walking cycle. With orthotics, the feet are gently and consistently eased back into the corrective functioning position, helping to improve alignment and decrease pain and discomfort.

Simpler foot orthotics allow the muscles, tendons and bones of the feet and lower legs to function at their highest potential. When appropriately prescribed, orthotics can decrease pain, not only in the foot, but in other parts of the body such as the knee, hip and lower back. As an example orthotics can also increase stability in an unstable joint, prevent a deformed foot from developing additional problems, and improve overall quality of life.
Common conditions treated with foot orthotics include:
- Excessive foot pronation (flat-feet)
- Malalignment syndromes
- Children's problems including in-toe, out-toe and flat feet
- Neuromas (burning on ball of the foot)
- Foot pain and fatigue
- Leg pain and fatigue
- Knee pain
- Back pain
- Sports injuries
- Arthritis
